Help

The Help application contains ElyOS system documentation and user guides. Currently under development with basic functionality.

Current Status

The Help application is currently under development. The basic framework is complete, which allows:

• Context-sensitive help: Applications can open the Help application with a specific help identifier
• Multi-instance operation: Opening multiple help windows simultaneously
• Dynamic title: Window title automatically updates based on the displayed help topic

Opening the Application

You can open the Help application in the following ways:

• Start Menu: Clicking the Help application icon from the Start Menu
• Desktop icon: If the Help application icon is placed on the desktop, clicking it
• Context-sensitive help: Some applications can open the Help application with a specific topic (under development)

Multi-Instance Operation

The Help application is multi-instance, which means:

• You can open multiple help windows simultaneously
• Each window can display a different help topic
• Window title automatically updates based on the displayed topic (e.g., “Help - Settings”)
• Useful if you want to read multiple topics in parallel

Planned Features

The Help application will be expanded with the following features in the future:

• Complete documentation: Full documentation of the ElyOS system
• Table of contents: Left navigation panel for easier browsing
• Search: Quick search in documentation
• Links: Cross-references to related topics
• Application-specific help: Detailed guides for each application
